Meeting friends on two and four legs

I am back in Lisbon, sitting again at the „Home Lisbon Hostel“ right in the centre of town and writing these lines. My time in Praia Baleal was wonderful. So much beach-time, so much laughter with my two-legged friends and so much love and awareness with my four-legged friend Pingu. I still feel so moved, having followed that beautiful invitation to Baleal to see Mariana and Ana. These two girls are amazing human beings. What there is to be taken care of, they take care of and that in a wonderful and humbling way. How Mariana adores her dog Pingu and how he is paying it back with love and affection is mindboggling. Well, one does not have to understand it but instead of that just see and experience it. And what a cook she is. Ohh my god. What have those two lunches been? So delicious, so fresh, so simply amazing. Thanks, Mariana. And there is Ana, a soft but very clear spoken human being. Our conversation this morning was in many ways mesmerising. Here they are, people that see life for what it is and then there is an exchange of words, that does not need a referee. Just space and mindful listening to the other and their spoken words. Thanks, Ana.

I feel gratitude about this time but also meeting people, that live their purpose, without making a thing of it. Instead of that, they give it meaning by doing what they are doing. Still being connected with the projects they support at „Impactrip“. In a way, it all makes total sense to see them work and committing time to what they love, and this way supporting the ongoing of voluntary work post-corona. It is by no means done as a means to an end. No, it is done through love and commitment to what their very special work sort of moves them into. I mean, seriously, I could write anything here, but still, it is that friendship to our purpose in life, which makes all the difference. Or have you ever done something with gusto, where you would have said, you needed meaning to do it? Probably not and that is what matters -and what will change the world for anyone embarking on living their purpose. So, no need to change anything around you first and then hoping all will go alright but instead, do what your darn heart is telling you and see the world around you unfold into unimaginable beauty.

This last sentence could have come from the Lama / Buddha Pingu. Tomorrow I am off to Porto.

Bom Caminho
Good night.

… P.S. By chance I meet the wonderful Taehui from Sout-Korea, who has been with the ImpacTrip Project for almost 8 months. Amazing!

That which gets in the way – Is the way

You see, this keeps happening to me, just as much as a hurtful foot or an aching hip. Even my mind wanted to not accept this at first and I did realise that, noticed the rejection of something beautiful just as much as I would probably reject some pain at first. Today...

When Play brings real emotions to the surface

When Play brings real emotions to the surface

Suddenly there was real emotion and not a play of a theatre piece. Laughing, crying, running tears and a beating heart, that was making somersaults for being free. Yes, I am back again writing some new lines of text for you to read. Or am I just writing this stuff for...

My foot is broken – so, what now

My foot is broken – so, what now

Limping and making carefully one step at a time, I made it to a place called Montedor. I stepped into a Cafe which was named after the town, ordered a cafe and a toast with ham and cheese and sat down outside."My foot is broken and what now?" That's what I asked...

When you are here but you never see Porto

I feel like dropping into the pilgrim. I sort stop exploring places, I am staying at, and instead of that, come down to very simple tasks, like cooking and enjoying a glass of wine in the kitchen. This morning it was again time to say goodbye to Lisbon. Only this...

Sunset in Praia Baleal

Sunset in Praia Baleal

The sun got lower and lower and bathed the air, the sea, the houses and rocks in its amazing colours. My bus left this morning from Lisbon to Peniche. A friend of mine, I worked with at the ImpacTrip Project in Lisbon invited me to join her at her grandparent's place....
